Weapon of War
Weapon of War is an award-winning film honored by Amnesty International.
It journeys to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where after
decades of conflict between rebels and government forces, Congolese
women and girls have fallen victim to rape on a massive
scale; with the numbers continuing to rise. The film journeys to the
heart of the crisis, where through personal interviews with soldiers and
former combatants we meet the perpetrators and hear their shocking
testimony about rape. One of the first things that
becomes apparent from the confessions of these men is that, as was the
case before the war, discrimination against women and girls underlies
the violence towards them.
Please note: This film contains scenes some viewers may find disturbing.
